Celtic Cross Tattoos

Dating back since the 7th Century the beautiful unique design of the Celtic Cross symbolises Christianity. Popular belief has it that Saint Patrick introduced the Celtic Cross into Ireland but its exact origins is to be proven. Implementing a Celtic Cross into a tattoo design is popular with many examples of great artwork to see. We've found some examples of amazing tattoo artwork that uses the design of the Celtic Cross.

Celtic Cross & Knot Tattoo

Celtic Cross & Knot TattooWe love this design of the Celtic cross and implementation of Celtic knots. It looks like a very complicated design that has been brilliantly done, certainly not an easy task to achieve.

Not everyone goes for the basic design of Celtic cross as shown in this photo, its totally flawless in our opinion. Double click picture to get a better view.

Celtic Cross, Claddagh & Knot Tattoo

Celtic Cross, Claddagh & Knot TattooAnother great design of the Celtic cross but with a difference. What makes this one stand out from the rest of the crowd is the colour. We all know that selecting the right colour can be very difficult for any design but this one looks perfect.

We also love the implementation of the Claddagh symbol in the centre of the cross. Notice the crown, the heart and two hands? Claddagh is a special symbol of friendship, love and unity and has been around for hundreds of years.

What is also great about this design is the Celtic knots and from the looks of it the knots have been uniquely drawn, dare we say almost a new look for the Celtic Knot?

Christian Cross & knot Tattoo

Christian Cross & knot Tattoo

We wouldn’t exactly class this tattoo as a Celtic cross as it’s a Christian cross. However, with the Celtic design within the cross we have decided to place it under this section of Celtic cross tattoos.

As you can see the design is very crisp and clearly done and we love how the Celtic knot is implemented into the cross.
