Season Greetings Ireland From Bupa

Merry Christmas Ireland, Merry Christmas loyal customers and more importantly Merry Christmas to our loyal Irish employees is a statement that Bupa Ireland didn’t make today.

Bupa Ireland did however split the news they are leaving the Irish market immediately which leaves 475,000 Irish customers in limbo and over 300 workers without a job right before Christmas.

What a nice and caring health company Bupa actually are but what leaves me mystified is how Bupa’s decision makers can actually sleep at night, I suppose checking their bank balance might have something to do with it and their families must be proud.

Let’s hope that Irish people around the world who are customers of Bupa end up boycotting their health service, I know I would terminate mine if I was a member.

Merry Christmas Bupa and lots of Love,

Ireland.

One Response to “Season Greetings Ireland From Bupa”

  1. If Ireland through its government shows no loyalty to BUPA why should BUPA show “loyalty” to it? It’s a business, not a charity. They told the govt what would happen if they continued to prop up VHI, they even delayed the announcement until after the budget to avoid overshadowing the budget.

Arguably the VHI are the ones who should have been wound up because their political connection will always cause them to receive favourable treatment. You can’t operate as a de facto monopoly in a competitive environment and I hope the EU Commission is watching carefully.

BUPA is headquartered in Fermoy near where I grew up and I feel very bad for their staff and the town since they are a solid contributor to the local economy - Ned O’Keeffe and Michael Ahera will have some explaining to do at the election.
