Preparations for Orange Order Parades

Ulster Says….”Mmmmmm, nice!”

Originally uploaded by Plastic Jesus.

Isn’t it great to see the children in the North of Ireland get more involved with their art studies and degrade the British Union Flag by painting its colours on paving kerbs.

Why would one paint their kerbs red, white and blue in the North? Well that is the preparation for the Orange Order parades that take place there every year.

Aye before anyone asks, it’s the UK tax payer that covers the cost to clean up this mess.

*sigh*

  1. Yikes! Great pic though. I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland and I really hope to do so one day. :)

  2. What are the orange order parades like and what are they about??? I am an American who obviously doesn’t know enough about Ireland. :-)
