Drinking Guinness At St James’s Gate

Being a fond Guinness drinker for the past 16 years, I realised that I had never actually visited the Guinness factory in Dublin. A couple of weeks back a few friends and myself decided to take the tour of St James gate and learn something about the most famous drink to come out of Ireland.

I was impressed with the shear size of the Guinness facility in Dublin and had no idea their site was so big. After spending an hour learning about the history of Guinness, it was time to sprint to the top of Guinness tower in need of pint of the black stuff. I had always wanted to taste the Guinness poured in the factory because apparently ‘it’s the best poured Guinness’ one can get.

As I said, I am a fond Guinness drinker so I am very selective in what pubs I will drink Guinness in and to be honest the pint I received in the Guinness tower was far from the best-poured pint I had ever received. Actually, if I had a choice of drinking Guinness at the factory or at one of my favorite pubs in Dublin I would have to go with my favorite Dublin pub.
